South Shore Puerto Vallarta: The Most Beautiful Coast in Mexico
Beginning just south of Zona Romantica is the beautiful South Shore featuring some of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta.
Amapas and Upper Conchas Chinas and Lower Conchas Chinas are at the north end of the South Shore. This area is often referred to as the Beverly Hills of Puerto Vallarta. As you travel through the winding roads that lead to expansive hillside vistas it all becomes clear. Amapas and Conchas Chinas are home to condos and villas that span from chic luxury to quaint and traditional.
Travelling further south out of Conchas Chinas are the many beachfront properties of the South Shore, and the pristine beaches for which it has become both sought after and famous. Beginning south of Conchas Chinas Beach you will find the beaches of Estacas, Los Venados, Punta Negra, Palmares, Garza Blanca and Gemelas. All of these are worthy to spend a day, and more!
East of the highway, just a few kilometers inland, lies the cozy little village of El Nogalito. Built around a small church and crossed by a beautiful little river, this is the perfect place to escape from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta and connect with nature.
A little further south is Mismaloya, The beach is dotted with family run restaurants where you will find affordable and delicious meals and the specialty is the Catch of The Day Zarandeado Style. Mismaloya is famous as the set of the 1950s film ·Night of the Iguana”, and just upstream lies the set for the 1980s film “The Predator”.
The southern point of the South Shore is Boca de Tomatlan, or Boca, as it is commonly referred to by the locals. Boca is a a quaint fishing village home to magnificent villas and condos with stunning ocean and mountain views. From Boca you can take a panga to one of the beautiful beaches only 10 minutes away and accessible only by boat. Spent the day in one of the amazing beach clubs.
